Your loved one will be brought to our facilities (Kane & Fetterly). We will identify them with the picture you have provided us, or the hospital bracelet, if they have died in hospital. We will remove any catheters, pacemakers and jewelry. Jewelry will be returned to you. We will place your loved one in the cremation container included in your package and proceed to the cremation.

If an urn is not purchased, you will receive the ashes in a plastic bag inside a temporary cardboard container. An alaVida representative will contact you to arrange delivery or pick-up.

Yes, we can ship the cremated remains through Canada Post services. An extra fee will be charged.

Once we have registered the death, we will be applying for an official death certificate from l’État Civil (Copy of Act of Death) in a rush service. This document is included in your package. The Death Certificate will be mailed to you. Expect delays of 2 – 3 weeks to receive this document. You will be able to order additional originals on-line through the État Civil website.
